A high quality science education provides the foundations for understanding the world through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics. Through building up a body of key knowledge and concepts, pupils will be encouraged to recognise the power of rational explanation and develop a sense of excitement and curiosity about natural phenomena.
At Shawclough we ensure that all pupils develop a secure understanding of knowledge and concepts. We allow them to build up extended specialist vocabulary and use skills acquired from maths to collect, present and analyse data.
The children are encouraged to be curious and ask questions about what they notice.
