Dear Parents
Your Child Learning to Read Meeting for Reception and Year One Parents Subject ‘Literacy’ Meeting to be held in Unit One Monday, 10 October 2016 3.30 – 4.15 p.m. |
You are invited to a meeting about your child learning to read. This is a meeting you cannot afford to miss. Your child’s future educational opportunities may depend on it!
At the meeting we will:
- Explain how we teach literacy at school
- Tell you how you can help your child with literacy skills at home
- Answer any questions you may have about teaching, learning and developing literacy
- Give your child’s reading book, reading record and reading packet to take home
At Shawclough we know that your child will make the very best progress when you and school work together as parents. I am sure that, like us, you will want your child to do the best s/he can in school. That is what the meeting is all about. The meeting is aimed at parents of Reception children. However, if your child is now in Year One and you missed the meeting last year or if you would like to come for a second time you will be very welcome. Due to lack of space children will not be able to attend. We would appreciate it if parents could make arrangements for children to be looked after during the meeting as there will not be a crèche. School age children can attend Tea Time Club free of charge.
Your child needs you and your child’s school needs you – be there!
Yours sincerely
Shayon Bail
