Dear Parent/Carer

Jeanette Allen, a well-loved member of our staff, died suddenly during the school holiday.  We have spoken with her family and offered our heartfelt sympathy, as well as any support and help we are able to give.  Further details will follow about how we plan to remember Jeanette.

Although your children may be affected by this tragic death, it would be best for school routine to continue as normally as possible and pupils should continue to attend school regularly.

Reactions of pupils will vary and may include crying, not wanting to talk, wanting to talk, wanting to be alone, anger, lack of concentration, sleeping and eating problems.

We have all been saddened by this event.  For children and adults it is their naturally available network of family, friends and our staff who can provide the most effective support and help.

We have in place a school support system which involves staff from the Local Authority.  If you feel your child needs additional support please contact your child’s teacher in the first instance.

Yours sincerely
