Welcome to Shawclough Community Primary School Nursery. We offer flexible entitlement provision for children aged between three and four years of age. Our curriculum is child centered, with a highly experienced and dedicated Early Years team lead by a Qualified Teacher. All staff observe, assess and plan activites that challenge and extend the child's current learning development.

A high quality Nursery education is far more than giving instructions in educational skills. It is about developing a child's natural joy and wonder in the world they live in. Staff carefully plan play opportunities to develop the seven areas of learning specified in the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework. We take pride an enabling enviroment that supports development of the charcteristics of effective learning. (Playing and exploring, Active learning, Creating and thinking critically.)

Our children respond with excitement as our learning dinosaur eggs hatch.

Exploraraptor encourages children to learn through play, finding out about and exploring new things.

Stickosaur encourages children to enjoy achieving what they set out to do, to keep trying and to develop concentration.

Solvatops encourages children to have their own ideas, to make connections and to become critical thinkers.
